Terms of Use
Last updated 20 August 2026
This site is a free service run for the North Woodmere neighbourhood by volunteers. Using it means accepting the few things set out below — chiefly that the times here are a convenience, not an authority.
Zmanim
Zmanim are calculated for North Woodmere, New York and supplied by Hebcal. Different calculations exist for several of them, and shuls do not all follow the same opinion. For any question of halacha, ask your rav — the numbers here are a reference, not a ruling.
Yom Tov and fast days
On Yom Tov, Chol HaMoed and Purim the ordinary weekday times are deliberately not shown, because a shul's regular schedule is not what it davens on those days. A blank is not an oversight; it means we have not been told, and you should ask the shul. The same applies to Maariv on Erev Yom Tov, which belongs to the Yom Tov that is starting.
Posting a mazel tov
Simchas post immediately, without waiting for approval, on the understanding that they are genuine and that the people named would be glad to see it. Please do not post anything that is not a simcha, anything about somebody who would not want it public, or anything you would not put your own name to. Every post carries the poster's name and number privately, and anything that does not belong will be removed.
Calling for a tenth, and answering one
The tenth-needed alert notifies real people and asks them to leave their homes. Use it only when a minyan genuinely needs somebody. If you answer a call, your name is shown publicly on that call for as long as it is open — up to 45 minutes — so that others can see who is coming, and tapping it will ring you. Please read the Privacy page before using it.
Fair use
Please don't attempt to break, overload or scrape the site, post on somebody else's behalf without their agreement, or use anything here for advertising or solicitation. Access may be withdrawn from a number or device that misuses it.
Shul information
Shul names, addresses and schedules are published as a service to those shuls and to the neighbourhood. If your shul would like something corrected, changed or removed, email admin@northwoodmere.org and it will be done.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be accurate, complete or available. It is maintained in spare time, without charge, and may be changed or discontinued at any point.
